Monday morning began with a drizzly wait in the trailhead parking lot until it was apparent that the weather was not going to cooperate that day.

Tuesday the group came in with extra energy to a bright sunny day. A quick introduction to the park and a brisk hike up to the Overlook Rocks and everyone quickly got to work. This group seemed to take to the trail tools with aplomb.

One group went up to the Overlook Trail lead-in to Lichen Rock and began the arduous task of raising and contouring the trail tread so that water wouldn’t collect in an otherwise flat section of trail.

A second group “the pit crew” began getting large amounts of dirt out of the excellent pit that had been opened the week before and into “Nemo”. This was transported up and around to the Overlook Trail lead-in to fill the treadway.

The third group began cutting new trail to provide the ride-around for Lichen Rock. The removal of the duff layer exposed a great many rocks close up to the entry onto Lichen Rock. Rocks were moved in to form the final corner, while a low area in the center of the trail segment needed a french drain.

A short lunch out on the Overlook Rocks and everyone was right back to it for the afternoon.

A second dirt pit was opened up to feed Nemo -the 4 wheel-drive wheelbarrow- even faster as dirt was moved into the low spots of both segments of trail.

A great amount of work was accomplished on a beautiful day up on the mountain. Thank you for coming up to our humble town and helping with something that will be enjoyed by many for many years to come.

My deep appreciation,

Work on the south lead-in and the ride-around for Lichen Rock on the Overlook Trail

Please don’t forget to upload your own photos and communicate this site to others in the group so that everyone can see the great work done!

There are buttons on the top of the gallery to do both!

Okay!!!!. ... so today I brokered a deal with the local screen shop... They have a few guys who mtn.bike in the park all the time...

They did these at the screen shop's "cost"... $5 per shirt.. (Pretty darn great!)

So: really high quality t-shirts (pigment dyed organic cotton) in either Sky Blue or Black which is really more of a nice aged dark grey. (The shirts feel like they’ve been worn for about 5 years but are new)

They have the Park Logo on the front left breast and the the GIS contour map of the park with all the trails on the back.

The Sky Blue we have in Youth Large (nice for small girls - basically a Small but not as long)  and S, M, L, XL, XXL... the Dark Grey in just S, M, L, XL, XXL...

If you'd like some... what we would like to do is just get one order from each group ... so that we don't have a myriad of postal addresses... If this is something you'd like or be interested in... I'm going to give you Shelley (our 501c3 secretary's email address) shelley.lutz@gmail.com    Just give her Numbers and Sizes in each Color T-shirt and we’ll get them out to you!

Click Here to see what the T-shirts look like!

Everyone who has been riding and hiking the new stuff has been very appreciative!

It came out amazing!
