The New Jersey and Pennsylvania Group began on a brilliant sunny Monday morning. A few of the NJ people went down below the Seeping Ledge Bridge and shored up some more dirt on the long banked turn after it had compacted down for a week. The rest of the group went forward beyond the bridge and began reshaping the muddy undulating dips on the first traverse. Some beautiful trailwork was done by cutting trenches downward to allow the normally pooling water to flow out. A sweeping corner around to another traverse was resurfaced and contoured up to the step-up rock between two trees.

Day two was a bit cloudier and I wondered if we could clear the entire distance to the top of the Svelte Tiger. The group worked very hard pushing its way upward. By lunch it looked like everyone had just about had it, but we were closing in to the very top of the trail. Many “Nemo” loads were moved along the trail with one last giant push around the last corner to the very top.

The group worked extremely hard and really moved the trail a long distance to the top of Svelte Tiger. We’d like to thank everyone for really digging in and holding it together to reach that goal. There have been rave reviews by all the people who regularly use the trail to access the upper trail system. Thanks for finishing out the Svelte Tiger!.. the culmination of 4 weeks of work with YouthWorks
